NY Legislature Pushing Internet Sales Tax Again
Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature are attempting to stifle Internet commerce yet again, this time going after the marketplaces that enable small businesses to thrive and prosper on ecommerce platforms.
This budget proposal recently introduced by Governor Cuomo would force online marketplaces to collect and remit New York State sales taxes for any transactions that involve New York buyers – and that includes out-of-state purchases from the smallest businesses and even casual online selling by individuals!
If you think, like we do, that your state legislators should oppose this oppressive, detrimental legislation, we urge you to send a letter to your state legislators. Tell them to support, not stifle online entrepreneurship and consumerism!
